I am a Lecturer (UK equivalent of an Assistant Professor) in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield. In the 2021-22 academic year, I will be a Fellow-in-Residence at the Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University. Before that, I studied for my BA and MPhil at the University of Cambridge, and completed a PhD at Columbia University in New York.
The core of my research is in Value Theory, including Normative Ethics, Metaethics, Moral Psychology, and Rationality. I also publish in the Philosophy of Mind. In addition, I have interests in Epistemology, Political Philosophy, and the History of Philosophy, focusing on the Sentimentalists (especially David Hume and Adam Smith) and the American Pragmatists (especially William James and John Dewey).
I am the Editor of Analysis Reviews and an Associate Editor of The Journal of Moral Philosophy.
