I am a Lecturer (UK equivalent of an Assistant Professor) in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield. Before that, I studied for my BA and MPhil at the University of Cambridge, and completed a PhD at Columbia University in New York.
The core of my research is in Metaethics, Normative Ethics, and Moral Psychology, but my work crosses the boundaries of many subfields in philosophy where values and normativity are central, including Rationality, Epistemology, Philosophy of Mind, and Political Philosophy. I also have interests in the History of Philosophy, focusing on the Sentimentalists (especially David Hume and Adam Smith) and the American Pragmatists (especially William James and John Dewey).
I am the Editor of Analysis Reviews and an Associate Editor of The Journal of Moral Philosophy.
